Our Story

The Heart Behind Scribble & Scripture

Untitled design (3).jpg

Hi! I'm Amanda Neill, the founder and creator of Scribble & Scripture.

I've been a Christian my entire life, but that doesn't mean I've always found the Bible easy to understand. I've always had a love for God's Word and a passion for art and creativity, and in May 2024, a little dream began taking shape. What if I could bring those two passions together to help others understand Scripture in a simple, beautiful way?

At the time, I was a single mom raising my two little boys, while working 50–60 hours a week. I had two dreams on my heart: to create something meaningful that would help people grow closer to God, and to have more time for the little moments with my children that I knew I could never get back.

So, with a small amount of savings, a whole lot of faith, and no idea where this journey would lead, I took the biggest leap of faith of my life, I quit my job and started Scribble & Scripture.

Two years later, this company has grown into more than I could have ever imagined, reaching thousands of Bible readers and even becoming a traditionally published book!

I am also now married to my husband, Cody, and together we're raising six wonderful children. Looking back, I'm so grateful I took that leap of faith. What started as a little idea on my heart has become an opportunity to share my love for Scripture with others every single day.

And through it all, my greatest hope has remained the same: to help people fall in love with reading God's Word.

Praying Over Bible

What We Believe

Rooted in Scripture. Centered on Christ.

Scribble & Scripture is a non-denominational Christian business built on a love for God's Word.

My faith is the foundation of everything I do. While I certainly don't claim to have all the answers, there are some foundational truths that I hold close to my heart.

I believe in one God. I believe in the Trinity: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. Three distinct persons, yet one God, the Creator of all things.

I believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God. I believe He came to earth, lived a sinless life, died on the cross for our sins, and rose again. I believe He is our Savior and that one day He will return.

I believe salvation is a gift of God's grace. It isn't something we can earn through good works, but a gift we receive through faith in Jesus Christ.

I believe the Bible is God's inspired Word. I believe Scripture is true, trustworthy, and without error, and that it is our foundation for understanding who God is and how He calls us to live.

I believe in the Holy Spirit. I believe the Holy Spirit is present and active in the lives of believers, guiding us, comforting us, and helping us grow in our relationship with God.

I believe in growing in our relationship with God. Through prayer, studying Scripture, and living out our faith, we can continue learning, growing, and drawing closer to Him throughout our lives.

How These Beliefs Shape Our Resources

While my faith is at the heart of Scribble & Scripture, I never want my personal opinions or denominational background to overshadow God's Word.

Rather than focusing on theological debates, my Bible summaries center on the people, places, events, and timelines recorded in Scripture.

For example, when summarizing the book of Acts, I include the events of Pentecost and how the Holy Spirit came upon the believers, who began speaking in other languages. But I don't use that summary to argue whether speaking in tongues continues today. My goal is simply to explain what happened in the biblical account.

I believe there's a difference between helping someone understand what they're reading and telling them what they should believe about it.

My hope is that Scribble & Scripture will always be a welcoming place for anyone who wants to learn more about the Bible, ask questions, and grow in their understanding of God's Word.

Above all, I want my resources to point people back to Scripture itself.

How Our Resources Are Created

Every page begins with Scripture

One of the greatest blessings of Scribble & Scripture is getting to combine two things I love: studying God's Word and creating art.

But before the illustrations, colors, and designs, every resource begins with an open Bible.

1. Read & Study

When creating a Bible summary or resource, I begin by reading the entire book of the Bible from beginning to end.

I take my time getting familiar with the story, paying attention to the people, places, events, and important details found throughout Scripture.

2. Write & Organize

Next, I begin writing my own notes and putting everything together in a way that's easier to follow.

I focus on the biblical narrative, organizing important events, timelines, and key information, doing my best not to add my personal theological interpretations. My goal is to help readers understand what happened, who was involved, and how everything connects.

3. Research & Double-Check

Once my initial draft is written, I spend time researching and studying the material further. I use Bible study resources and commentaries, including Enduring Word, to help me better understand historical context, unfamiliar details, and passages that need a closer look.

I never want to rush through something I don't fully understand, especially when I'm creating resources that others will use to study God's Word.

4. Illustrate & Design

And then comes my favorite part: bringing everything to life!

Using Canva and Autodesk SketchBook, I personally design each page with illustrations, timelines, charts, and creative layouts.

Every book of the Bible is different, so every summary is thoughtfully designed to complement the story being told.

I love finding little ways to turn pages of information into something that's easier to understand and remember.

Created With Care, Rooted in Scripture

I know that God's Word deserves to be handled with care, and that's something I take seriously with every resource I create.

I'm not a pastor or a theologian, and I certainly don't claim to know everything. I'm simply someone who loves the Bible, loves learning, and wants to share what I've studied in a way that might help someone else.

My resources aren't meant to replace Scripture or tell you what to believe. They're meant to help you understand what you're reading and encourage you to keep digging deeper into God's Word.
